The questions every charity asks first.
Why are volunteers always free?
Because the verified record belongs to the volunteer. They carry it across charities, across years, into scholarship applications and corporate CSR programs. Charging volunteers for their own credential would break the model. Charities pay because we make their records grant-ready and audit-defensible.
What happens if we go over the verified-hour cap?
Nothing breaks. You receive a friendly notification when you cross the cap, and any additional verified hours that month are billed at the overage rate listed in your tier. We do not shut off check-ins or limit volunteers. If overages happen consistently, that is your signal to upgrade.
Can we downgrade or cancel?
Yes. Monthly subscriptions cancel for the next billing cycle through your dashboard. Annual subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, but the prepaid term continues. Your verified records stay yours forever, exportable in standard formats, even after you cancel. Volunteers retain access to their records on the volunteer-facing platform regardless of your subscription status.
What is the Founding 50 Charter?
The first 50 organizations that subscribe to Verified or Audit-Ready get the price they sign at locked for two years (no increases), early access to new features, listing on our Founding Members page, and a direct line to the founding team. The price is the published price. The exclusivity is the offer.
How does the Checker background check integration work?
Audit-Ready and above include the integration. When a host organization enables a background-check requirement on a role, the volunteer is presented with a separate, FCRA-compliant disclosure and authorization. After consent, Checker performs the check and returns an eligibility status. The host pays $29 per check (passed through at near cost) and sees only eligibility status, not underlying records. Do you offer a trial?
Yes. Verified and Audit-Ready include a 14-day free trial. No credit card required to start. At the end of the trial your account reverts to Starter (free) unless you choose to continue.
Do you offer nonprofit, educational, or multi-year discounts?
All published prices already assume nonprofit use; that is who we are built for. Annual prepay saves 17% on every paid tier. Multi-year contracts and chapter-network deals are negotiated as part of Network and Enterprise plans. Beyond that, we do not offer further discounts at launch. Pricing the verification value correctly is more important to us than chasing volume.
What do organizations get when they pay versus volunteers using the platform free?
Volunteers always get the full verification stack at no cost. What organizations buy is not 'access' for volunteers. They buy: branded experience, grant-ready report templates, audit-trail exports with chain of custody, background check integration, custom verify subdomain, API access, multi-program reporting, dedicated support, SLAs, and the right to use Kindness Counts as the verification engine inside their own program operations.
